Happy October from Teddy Bear Children’s Dentistry! Fall is definitely our favorite season and we always look forward to all the fun festivities it includes, such as visiting pumpkin patches all over our city! Even though we are still following CDC and ADA Safety guidelines, Elvira the Spider stopped by Teddy Bear Children's Dentistry Office and she laid some spider webs and spider eggs throughout the office to get us all in the Halloween Spirit. We hope you visit us soon to check it out.
Though Halloween will look a little different this year due to the coronavirus Dr. Da Fonseca still plans on partaking in some of her favorite activities. Every year as a Halloween tradition she watches all the different Halloween Baking Competitions on the Food Network Channel. It’s definitely inspiring! Some fun Halloween-themed foods you could try making for your family are zombie avocado toast, creamy pumpkin apple quesadillas, witch finger cookies, apple spiderweb pops, Halloween popcorn and crispy rice treats, and spider pretzel bites. For all those little ones with a sweet tooth, the Carifree Lollies are highly recommended. Other than indulging in some delicious treats Dr. Da Fonseca will decorate her house with carved pumpkins and watch some Halloween-themed movies! She’s not fond of horror movies but prefers all the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies series.
In other office news, we are still following the guidance of the major local and national health and dental organizations. Many of the “new” infection control recommendations were already standard of care at our office including surface disinfection, air-filtration, sterilization protocols, handwashing, and more. For added safety, we have expanded HEPA/UV-C air filtration to every room, along with an upgraded HVAC system throughout the building, we are limiting the total number of patients, staggering appointments, and continue to pre-screen patients and take temperatures at the door. Please note that we will be using Protective Personal Equipment, Kn95 masks, Gowns, commercial-grade disinfecting sanitizing spray, and face shields to help protect everyone in the office. We have gone above and beyond any recommendations put in place by the county and the state. Rest assured we are taking your health and safety seriously and we are constantly updating our protocols as new information becomes available.
