We welcome all children and teenagers from birth to eighteen years of age. Parents are always welcome to accompany their child at all times during your child’s visits to our office.
Parent Corner
Teddy Bear Children's Dentistry is not like other pediatric dental offices who make you abide by various rules. We have policies, but tailor them to fit our patients’ needs. Scroll down to read some helpful information on our office policies, or click on a topic below to quickly navigate to that section.
OPEN-DOOR POLICY
We have an open-door policy, which means you are welcome to be with your child at all times, with the exception of general anesthesia appointments. Our goal is to develop a trusting relationship with your child and allow them to have a positive experience in receiving dental care.
Studies have shown that most children react more positively when permitted to experience the dental visit on their own and in an environment designed for children.
However, if you feel your presence would make your child more comfortable, you are welcome to accompany your child into the treatment room.
For children 3 years of age and under, it is very helpful to have the parent in the room and often your child will be on your lap! For the safety and privacy of all patients at Teddy Bear Children's Dentistry, we ask that all children who are not being treated remain in the reception room with a supervising adult. Keeping young teeth healthy is a team effort!
KEEPING HAPPY SMILES HAPPY
Despite our best efforts, sometimes dental work cannot be completed as planned. Our office understands that it may be frustrating and inconvenient to have to schedule another visit.
That may require you to change other plans. We ask that you respect our policy to not restrain, or otherwise cause distress to a child in order to complete non-emergency dental work.
INSURANCE
Everything we do at Teddy Bear Children's Dentistry is focused on your child and their oral health. We realize that each patient is unique, and we strive for providing dental care that results in what is best for your child.
Your dental plan will determine whether our clinic is in or out of network. Our experienced team will be happy to work with your insurance company to secure your dental benefits. If we are unable to obtain payment from your dental insurance company, you will be responsible for the balance and contacting the insurance for payment.
Payment for professional services is due at the time dental treatment is provided. Every effort will be made to provide a treatment plan which results in the best possible care for your child. If you have any questions, please call our office and one of our team members will be happy to answer any questions.
We will file with any PPO insurance company, as long as they do not require the patient to see a specific doctor on their list. We would be happy to find out if your insurance company will cover work done at our practice.
Most importantly, please keep us informed of any insurance changes such as policy name, insurance company address, or a change of employment. Keep scrolling to read some tips on how best to schedule your appointment.
SCHEDULING
Office visits are by appointment only, but we always make time for emergencies. We make every effort to see your child at the scheduled appointment time; and we ask you to afford us the same courtesy.
Schools consider dental appointments to be excused absences. We will give you a doctor’s letter for the teacher upon request.

PRE-APPOINTMENTS
We encourage you to pre-appoint your child’s next check-up during your visit. This is especially important if you want those desirable early morning and late afternoon time slots.
Preschool-age children should be seen in the morning, because many are most cooperative then. School-age children are also often most comfortable with morning appointments.
NOTIFY US EARLY
Since appointed times are reserved exclusively for each patient, we ask that you please notify our office 48 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time if you are unable to keep the appointment.
We realize that unexpected things can happen, but we ask for your assistance in this regard.
CANCELLATION
We understand sickness and emergencies may keep you from attending a scheduled appointment. Should you find yourself unable to keep your appointment, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance.
We will try to reschedule your child’s appointment at a more convenient time. For cancellations under 24 hours, a fee of $50 will be charged. Please understand the best appointment times are difficult to obtain with short notice.
