Growing up as a child in Brasil, one of my favorite memories during the holiday season was my parents going to the market and spending the entire day before Christmas cooking a Christmas dinner feast for the whole family to enjoy. It's customary in Brasil to have Bacalhoada which is a salted codfish casserole in English. Some of my other holiday favorites include ham and cheese lasagna, condensed milk flan, lime mouse, and passionfruit mousse. For all of my little patients that have fun baking and cooking, Dr. Fon wants you to know that I also love experimenting with new dishes for my family and friends to enjoy. As you can tell, cooking is one of my favorite holiday activities, that’s probably why Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
In Brasil we have a Christmas dinner celebration on the 24th through midnight into Christmas day when Santa Claus passes by delivering gifts to the kids. Christmas time in Brasil is during our Summer so we don't have snow, instead, we have a tropical Santa Claus enjoying the beaches.
This year for the holiday season, I will be holding a small gathering for my family members. Some of my favorite Christmas traditions include watching all the holiday baking shows with my husband. We also enjoy taking time to watch as many Christmas movies as possible before Christmas. My family and I also love to give back to our community during this time. Do you support any special organizations? If so, we would love to hear about them.
We are so blessed to be pretty booked out through the end of the year, but we are willing to fit any child in the schedule that is in need. Please call our office and our staff will be more than happy to help and work with you. And as a reminder, the office will be closed during the week of Thanksgiving and also December 24 and 31st. If you need to see us, make sure to call soon enough so we're still able to work something out to fit your child into the schedule.
We are so thankful for each of our patients that we saw this year and we hope you all have a wonderful and magical holiday season. We hope to see you soon!
